Freedom Village’s relationship with each resident begins when they receive an inquiry or a referral. The team meets with the prospective resident or couple, or even their extended family, in a private and welcoming environment. During this interaction, they strive to understand the specific wants, needs, and hopes of the resident and their loved ones. This understanding helps them address the resident’s clinical and financial concerns, which are often at the forefront of their minds.

Once they join the independent living community at Freedom Village, residents become contracted members, choosing between two plans: the Traditional Plan or the Freedom Plan. The Traditional Plan offers residents the security and peace of mind of lifetime care without the worry of exhausting assets.

In contrast, the Freedom Plan offers a 90 percent guaranteed refund of the entry fee if the resident leaves the community for any reason. This plan suits those who value financial flexibility over long-term healthcare cost predictability.

Both plans offer a flexible approach to senior living costs, with Life Care contracts available to make long-term care expenses more predictable and protect against rising prices.

Led by Mrs. Geyer, a Life Care Services employee and social work expert with 25 years of experience in long-term care, the team is composed of 12 directors with specialized expertise across various areas of senior living, including healthcare, culinary services, and operations. Supported by a 400-person staff, Freedom Village leverages this wealth of knowledge and experience to provide unparalleled care and support. Additionally, regional support is regularly available to assist the community.

Technology, integrated into every aspect of its operations, is another key element that supports Freedom Village in providing a welcoming environment for residents. For example, all residents have electronic medical records (EMRs) that the Nurse Navigator and/or healthcare services team can access to provide support. The community uses a platform called Touchdown, which interfaces with both staff and residents. Residents can use this application on their phones to access the resident directory, submit maintenance work orders, check programming and culinary options, and make dining reservations. Additionally, sensors in the resident condominiums alert the front desk if there is no movement for a certain period, prompting a wellness check. Residents also have pendants that, when pressed, request emergency assistance.

Freedom Village understands that each resident is different, with distinct health and lifestyle requirements. To that end, they have established the Extraordinary Impressions program, where residents and their families can provide recommendations, suggestions, and even commendations for the staff. The team focuses on delivering the 10 hospitality promises that LCS outlines as the standard of their customer service.
