J&L Management Group has been recognized by Elder Care Review Magazine as the exclusive recipient of “Senior Living Consultant Service of the Year 2025,” based on our proprietary methodology, reflecting its position in the industry, and is also named among “Top Senior Care Advisory Companies,” reflecting its broader leadership. This profile has been developed by the Elder Care Review research and editorial team based on insights from an interview with Jason L Rodriguez, CEO and Managing Partner and Lora Rodriguez, Co-Founder and CFO.
Jason L Rodriguez, CEO and Managing Partner and Lora Rodriguez, Co-Founder and CFOOur senior citizens have endured wars, witnessed revolutions, raised families, created communities, and helped build the very foundations of today’s world. Without their sacrifices and contributions, society as we know it would not exist, nor would the professionals, innovators, leaders, and dreamers who now carry that legacy forward. No generation has carried more, seen more, or contributed more. Now, it’s society’s turn to repay them with support, compassion, dignity, and a steadfast commitment to make this chapter of their life as rich and fulfilling as possible.
This sense of responsibility to give back is what drives J&L Management Group, a senior living devolvement and management company that specializes in all aspects from operation devolvement, new construction consultation, staff and management training, and acquisitions.
It operates, consults, owns, and invests in care facilities, with a strong focus on delivering compassionate, personalized support in avenues, including assisted living, memory care, independent living, and hospice care.
“Residents are our motivation, and caring for them is our purpose and passion,” says Jason L Rodriguez, CEO and managing partner.
Meeting Residents Where They Are
J&L Management Group believes that meaningful companionship can brighten someone’s entire day. Acknowledging that even the most caring families cannot always be present, it provides consistent support, attentive listening, and genuine connection —ensuring each individual feels valued, heard, and never seen as a burden.
This philosophy is something Rodriguez has carried with him throughout his career, which spans various healthcare spectrums, from hospitals and skilled nursing to assisted living and memory care, and now on the ownership side. Over time, he has come to realize that while residents may arrive for medical reasons, they choose to stay for something deeper—the genuine sense of connection, care, and belonging they find at J&L Management Group. And so, the company strives to create communities where systems are built with residents—not just around them—in mind.
“The goal is simple: treat every resident the way you’d want your own loved one to be treated. Whether you’re a housekeeper, a nurse, or a cook, we ask — would this be good enough for your mom, dad, or grandmother? If the answer is no, then it’s not good enough for someone else’s loved one either,” says Rodriguez.
Perhaps, the company can’t always provide residents with everything exactly as they want it, when they want it, but it works to meet their needs with empathy and flexibility. For example, if a resident requests laundry service every Tuesday and Saturday before lunch, J&L Management provides it. The company believes that it’s easier to adjust to their routine than for them to unlearn habits they’ve had for 80 years. While there are limitations, the goal is to meet 90 percent of their needs in a personalized way.
Helping Residents Feel at Home
The process of providing personalized care to residents begins with strong community engagement. J&L Management Group works closely with various organizations, including hospitals, rehab centers, and church and military groups, to raise awareness about senior living and assisted care services even before the need arises. This outreach includes health fairs, open houses, and events where physicians and specialists come together to discuss topics like aging, socialization, and hospice care. The company aims to host at least one event a month in each community, sparking conversations and providing valuable information to families and potential clients.

While many facilities experience a resident turnover rate of two to two and a half years, J&L Management Group’s averages are closer to five. Its return family rate in some buildings is over 60 percent. Its buildings have remained at or near 100 percent occupancy for years, and the staff turnover is also low because they’re happy and excited to work here. They feel respected, valued, and listened to, which makes a great difference in the overall environment. All this is a testament to people remembering how these facilities made them feel, and they come back when it’s time for another loved one to find care.
A significant part of that success is the company’s staff, as J&L Management Group prioritizes retention, growth, and internal promotion. It invests in training and education, helping the team get the degrees and certifications they need to advance. The company follows a full-circle philosophy. When residents are happy, the staff is fulfilled. When staff feel respected and valued, they’re motivated to do their best work. The company puts resources back into the community, buildings, people, and programs, knowing that this commitment fuels long-term success.
Care Beyond Age
While J&L Management Group primarily serves senior citizens, its care extends to younger individuals (18+) who have medical needs or disabilities, such as veterans with brain injuries or individuals recovering from trauma.
One example is the mother who came to Rodriguez, desperate to find care for her 46-year-old loved one, who had survived a tragic situation and required continuous support. Most facilities turned her down due to her age. But the truth is, anyone 18 or older with a qualifying medical need is eligible for assisted living. J&L Management Group welcomed her in and provided the care and environment she required.
Many traditional senior care facilities are built entirely around the preferences and routines of older adults— activities, crafts, meals—so when a younger resident arrives, they don’t know how to adapt. That’s not the case at J&L Management Group.
Here, residents choose their activities and meals. If someone doesn’t like what’s on the menu, the staff switches it out. This approach is all about catering to each resident’s preferences and needs—because, ultimately, it’s their home.
For example, some of J&L Management’s communities love bingo so much that they play it every day, while others only want it once a week or not at all. Some residents love certain activities that others, just 15 miles away, might hate. The company even had two buildings on the same property, but the people living in each were so different that their activity calendars couldn’t be the same.
That’s why the J&L care team doesn’t impose a single, rigid program across all communities. Instead, it focuses on creating a home that truly reflects the residents—their lives, their preferences. In one of its Florida communities, the company even provides care for former NASA engineers and even a large prior military population. For J&L Management Group, it’s about recognizing the lives these individuals have led and making sure they experience the same dignity, purpose, and respect in this chapter as they did in their careers.
A Bold Vision for Senior Living
J&L is planning for the future with purpose, driving progress through innovation, sustainability, and a deep commitment to community. In the next 12 to 18 months, the company is pushing ahead with a robust expansion plan, adding three to four new luxury senior living facilities that promise to redefine the experience of care—like resort-style living complete with spas, fitness centers and even movie theaters.
But it’s not just about luxury. J&L is equally committed to creating a positive environmental impact by incorporating solar power into its new facilities, which is an ambitious step that benefits not just the residents but the planet as well. It’s taking this green approach to heart, ensuring the projects support economic growth and healthier communities.
Another impressive aspect of J&L is that it views compliance not as a finish line, but as a starting point, an opportunity to do more than the bare minimum. While many facilities treat regulations as a box-checking exercise, J&L believes that true excellence lies in exceeding those standards to create a safer, more nurturing environment for both residents and staff.
This approach is refreshingly proactive: instead of just meeting state requirements, they deliberately put staff coverages above those minimums. In facilities where the law might stipulate that five staff members are sufficient, J&L operates with seven, recognizing that real life can’t always adhere to the script. If someone has to leave in the middle of the night or a family emergency arises, there’s a built-in cushion of support. This level of foresight ensures that residents always receive the care they deserve, even on holidays or in the dead of night.
That kind of commitment comes from J&L Management Group’s deeply personal, mission-driven family effort rooted in respect, accountability, and constant improvement. Rodriguez’s wife of 21 years, Lora, who is also the co-founder and CFO, believes that every day is a chance to be better than the last. This drives the entire company’s ethos. From the co-founders to the frontline teams, everyone shares the same purpose: show up, stay present, and push every single day to do better than the day before.
